Cold-rolled coils are made of hot-rolled coils, which are rolled at room temperature below the recrystallization temperature, including plates and coils. Among them, those that are delivered in sheets are called steel plates or flat plates; those that are delivered in coils are called steel strips or coils that are very long.
Since there is no heating during the production process, there are no defects such as pits and scales that often occur in hot rolling, and the surface quality is good and the finish is high. Moreover, the dimensional accuracy of cold-rolled products is high, and the performance and structure of the products can meet some special requirements for use, such as electromagnetic properties and deep drawing properties.

Commonly used deep drawing steel plates are:
(1) Aluminum steel plate. Steel plate rolled from aluminum steel. According to the drawing level, it is divided into three grades: stamping and drawing complex parts (ZF), stamping and drawing very complex parts (HF) and stamping and drawing complex parts (F); according to the surface quality, it is divided into special advanced, advanced and higher-level finishing surface; according to thickness tolerance, it is divided into A grade and B grade precision. The thickness of the deep-drawn steel plate is generally between 0.5 and 3.0mm, and the steel type is 08Al.
(2) Boiling steel plate. A steel plate rolled from boiling steel. The ultimate drawing ratio of the boiling steel plate is much lower than that of aluminum steel, so it is rarely used as a deep drawing material for complex parts except that some still use it to manufacture some auto parts.
(3) High-strength deep-drawn steel plate. With the requirements of lightweight automobiles, a phosphorus-containing high-strength deep-drawing steel plate with 0.06% to 0.09% phosphorus added to the steel has been developed. The yield strength is 250MPa, the tensile strength is 450MPa, and the elongation is 35%. When stamping auto parts with this steel plate, the thickness of the steel plate is reduced under the same strength, thereby achieving the purpose of reducing weight. This steel plate has been widely used in car production.
(4) Duplex steel plate. The steel contains elements such as Mn and Si, and the coils after cold rolling are subjected to interphase heat treatment during continuous annealing to obtain martensite (10% to 20%) and ferrite dual-phase structure. Dual-phase steel plate has both high strength (450-550MPa) and high plasticity (δ=25%-35%) and formability (see sheet formability). Duplex steel plates have begun to be used in door panel designs for premium cars.
